Requirement to hire a CPA in Turkey

Businesses engaged in trade or services are required to hire a licensed CPA if they are not larger than a certain size. The CPA takes care of filing and all kinds of communications with the tax administration. The CPA is jointly liable for any erosion in tax base resulting from failing to file taxes according to the documents and books of the company.

Entities that have annual turnover and asset sizes larger than certain limits may do without hiring a CPA. Most such company however either still hire a CPA or employ a qualified accountant in their team to manage their taxes.

It is also possible to have your taxes audited by a CPA externally. Such an audit is accepted by law to be on equal footing with the tax audit performed by a civil servant tax auditor. In such a case, the company is treated as “audited” in tax records. The tax auditing CPA will submit an audit report to the tax authorities until end of June next year regarding the tax base of that fiscal year.

Our license as CPA’s enable us to eliminate possible risks from taxes and let you focus on the business rather than compliance.
